This article discusses several case studies of claimants seeking repayments under the Aboriginal Trust Fund Repayment Scheme. It notes that in two years since the panel began accepting claims, it has paid out only one-ninth of the estimated debt, about $800,000, with an average payout of $10,185. The article also discusses some 'shortcomings' of the scheme including the exclusion of 'former farm boys and domestic servants whose records were destroyed or never kept and children who worked under the control of church institutions, which have been reluctant to make their records available'.
